In whats become somewhat of a yearly event, we had not one, but TWO new Super Robot Wars games announced on stream.
Super Robot Wars T
Overall, I can say I like this roster better than X. I popped hard for GaoGaiGar, Cowboy Bebob (wtf?!), Rayearth and especially G Gundam. Still, I was very disappointed when the PV finished and there was no sign of Iron Blooded Orphans. It’s pretty clear that Banpresto want to get the most out of the Z3 assets, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more of those series rotated in again next year. I’m pretty glad we get a break from Shin Mazinger Z, and I’m 100% done with Trider G7.
No specific release date was given, but if it’s anything like the last 2 years I wouldn’t be surprised at a April/May release. Looks like there’ll be an English release as well!
Super Robot Wars DD
Later in the stream there was an announcement for a second game, this time on iOS and Android. I totally missed this one as I turned off the stream after T was announced.
It actually looks kinda okay! Apparently there won’t be specific player and enemy phases, but rather it’s on a per-unit basis, unit stats will dictate the turn order. Again, a “2019” release date.
